The End of an Era

There was a time when every year we were introduced to a new "Best Player". Football was a fight between all the players and clubs. But then two phenomenons gave their introduction to the football world. The football throne became their personal property. Consistency and determination made them different from all the other players. They were two shining stars in bright daylight. The two players are Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

 Everyone knows who they are right now but only a few know what they were. Both of them were from a poor background.
Messi had a problem of growth hormone deficiency. His family did not have enough sources to get him out of this problem. But his talent got him everything. The little magician is named the FIFA player of the year for a record six times. Experts say that he is the best there was, the best there is and probably the best there ever will be. His ability of going past players is second to none.

 But there is another player who is equally good as this little man. Cristiano Ronaldo didnt give up. His immense hard work and dedication is an example for everyone. He has five player of the year titles to his name. His outstanding performance in the European platform has earned him 5 UEFA Champions league titles. He is the King of UEFA Champions league. His shooting power and ability in the air is by far the best.

The world stops still on this debate whether Messi or Ronaldo is the best player of all time. This is the first time that the world has seen two players sharing the best player award among each other for consecutive 10-11 years. Every year people knew that it's going to be one or the other.
But now, as both of them are in their 30s. We are nearing the end of an era. Injury after an injury for both of them is telling us that their end is near.   Football is going to be so normal. Watching them play is a pure moment of bliss. So let's stop debating on who's better than the other and enjoy them till they are playing.
